Lum Metik Mother Earth or mother of the People is Tzotzil, a Mayan language. This name represents the concept that we want to give to commercialization, to account the necessity for mankind to live in harmony with the environment. By paying for products you will be helping indigenous communities and people with financial needs.

At Lum Metik we offer a wide array of fine Mexican Crafts, from all around Mexico. Our products are crafted by varius indigenous groups who apply their heart and soul in the creation of these unique products. Only at Lum Metik will you not only be able to purchase these products but also help the indigenous communities that hand craft them.

MISSION

Under the principles of a just market:
Lum Metik is in the business of creating other businesses and be a source of employment for the Mexican business and social organizations. Products are distributed to the businesses of MERCADO MAYAPAN, the Mayachen complex, other spaces in El Paso, as well as domestic and international markets.

VISION

Under the principles of fair market and a united economy, Lum Metik is to be an efficient business and to offer commercial space for Mexican products and services which supply Mercado Mayapan and its businesses in El Paso as well as other American and international cities.

La Mujer Obrera is a non- profit organization that has embraced the rights of Mexican workers for 25 years along the US/ Mexico border. It has worked to create jobs and small business opportunities to improve the economic conditions for displaced workers. La Mujer Obrera also works to promote cultural values for the immigrant community.
